A beautiful love story.

Take A Chance is a story of loss and getting the chance to love again. It’s also about learning to open up and trust others when you have had no one to support you in years.

Willow Emery set out on her own at the age of eighteen after cutting all ties with her absent mother.  She is diagnosed with breast cancer in the very beginning of the story.  Asher Wellington lost his young wife to a drunk driver and is still mourning for her.  They literally crash into each other on the sidewalk as Willow is running out of the clinic after undergoing another chemo treatment.  Willow, who doesn’t have a ride and is trying to escape the nurse following her, runs straight into Asher.

Feeling drawn to her for an unexplained reason, he is invited by her nurse to come to her next appointment. Olivia, Asher’s deceased wife, comes to him in a series of dreams and encourages him to take a chance on Willow.  Feeling he has Olivia’s blessing, he shows up at her next appointment only to learn she has no support system the entire time.  He finds himself falling for this strong woman and Willow finds herself falling for a kind and supportive stranger.  Unbeknownst to them both, Asher’s sister is also Willow’s boss.

Of course, there is always some sort of drama bound to happen.  Misunderstandings and assumptions lead Willow to doubt Asher’s love and loyalty.  This is definitely a story of finding an unexpected love when your world has come crashing down around you.  I enjoyed the book a lot.

Willow Emery is in the middle of chemotherapy when she literally runs into Asher Wellington on the side-walk after treatment with a rather unfortunate outcome. She is alone in a new city and doesn't need anyone in her life. If life has taught her anything it’s that you can’t rely on anyone.

Asher is a young widower, devastated by the tragic death of his wife Olivia three years earlier. He has given up the idea of ever finding the kind of love that he shared with his late wife. Will one fateful day bring two lost souls together? Will taking a chance lead them to a happily ever after or will the challenges they face keep them apart?
