* REVIEW * - Angels Dawn by Komali Da Silva

Reviewer : Cheryl
Rating : 5 Stars

First and foremost Angels Dawn is NOT what I was expecting.  It is such a great YA paranormal story.

Dawn has just turned 16 and intervenes in a situation that she shouldn't have and starts a chain of events that become a nightmare.  She sustains an injury to the head and has nightmares of her attackers and feels like she is being stalked by them.

She meets Angelo who in some way brings her calmness and security and makes her feel safe.  She finds out that Angelo is the person that saved her from her attackers and for some reason he can communicate to her through her mind and just knows when she is under duress.  They feel an emotional bond for one another and feels like it is deeper than they both ever imagined.  They fall in love and start opening up to each other.  Right when they feel like their love will endure and is complete he is yanked away from her by outside forces and she has the option of fight or let it be.

She gains enemies that she has never met before and the malice behind the hatred is surprising.  Dawn is left feeling broken, battered, and bruised until her best friend Asima intervenes and straightens her out.  She undergoes a self evaluation and pieces her self back together to not cause her family any more worry than they have already until tragedy strikes yet again.

You are taken on an emotional journey through a teenage girls angst and first love woes. You cannot help but feel for her and the emotional tests and betrayals she's been put through. The characters have a natural flow to them and have a bond of with one another.  Their chemistry is impossible to miss and even harder to forget.  Prepare yourself for a Cliffhanger that will leave you teary eyed and wishing for a little bit more of everything.

AWESOME debut novel.

Dawn Huntington wants what every girl wants, a sweet sixteen birthday party with her friends, family, and some hot boys, but fate has other plans. On the night of Dawn's sixteenth birthday, she witnesses a crime she can't turn her back on, and the decisions she makes that night will change her life forever.

Never having been confronted with such violence, Dawn turns to a mysterious and beautiful boy named Angelo, only she can't remember what happens that night. To make things more complicated, Dawn is in a relationship with Angelo's complete opposite, Nate. Dawn doesn't want to hurt Nate, yet she can't shake her feelings for Angelo, even when she can't help but feel he's hiding something from her, and it could be something dark. Why is Angelo acting so weird around Bonita? Are they together? Are they really only friends?

Angelo may be trouble, but Dawn can't ignore her feelings for him. Dawn is at a crossroads. Should she choose love? Or friendship? Once Dawn finally finds the courage to choose, she thinks the drama is over. But Dawn wasn't expecting her choices to have such dire consequences.

Do you believe in love at first sight? But can one trust someone blindly? Can love overcome all the obstacles?

Is friendship just the beginning of love?
