*REVIEW* Love, Lies & The D.A. by Rebecca Rohman

Reviewer: Donna
Rating: 4 Stars

The book starts off with Jada, returning home to her apartment that she shares with her fiancĂ©e Richard only to find him having sex in her study with her best friend. She calls the wedding off and leaves and goes to Lake Tahoe. She has dinner at a restaurant where she catches the eye of a District Attorney, Jonathan Kole. There first meeting doesn't go very well and they part on bad terms but situations keep arising that push them together. Richard is murdered and Jada is the prime suspect in his murder which leads to Jonathan's father, Charles Kole representing her as her lawyer. The situation becomes so dangerous that the FBI are requested to protect Jada. She's being followed, she's having prank phone calls and she finds out a lot about  Richard that leads her to question if she really knew him. Jada also struggles with her feelings for Jonathan and questions everything that happens between them.

I was so hooked on the storyline as i couldn't wait to find out who killed Richard and were the phone calls and break in related to the murder? There were so many questions going through my mind that it left me craving the ending. I did feel that some comments or things that people said were repeated and some of the paragraphs weren't really related to the storyline and sort of went off track a bit but i loved having the story from both Jada and Jonathan. When i first started the book, i got a bit confused as it changes from Jada to Jonathan in the same chapter but once i got used to the characters, i realised straight away whose POV it was. Great story though and i did end up loving the characters and Jada and Jonathan's relationship. I did gasp out aloud and shed a few tears towards the second half of the book. It was a great story and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jada McLean is about to get married in nine days when she walks in on her fiancĂ© in a little more than a compromising position. Days later, she’s on a trip that she intends to be relaxing and a prelude to her fresh start when she runs into the rude, obnoxious, but gorgeous Jonathan Kole.
Jonathan Kole is San Francisco’s newest District Attorney. When he finds himself deeply attracted to a stunning beauty, he has no idea that she’s about to become in BIG trouble with the law- and he’ll be the one presiding over her trial. To make matters worse, his father is the lawyer representing her in the high-profile case.
When a series of events force them together over New Year’s weekend, Jonathan’s feelings and ethics will come into question, while Jada comes to terms with the fact that she is falling for the man that will be responsible for attempting to put her behind bars… Little do they know that they're both about to fall into a whirlwind so deep, it will send both their lives spiraling out of control.
